Come and celebrate!
When? Monday 8th June 2015 at 7.00pm Where? The Keystone Pub 3 Portsmouth Road Guildford GU2 4BL Why? We're launching The Keystone Anthology, our annual book of poems by writers whom we've loved hearing performing their work! The weather forecast so far suggests that we may be able to hold the event on the pub's lovely heated terrace, which has a barbecue. We'll start at 7pm and go on till at least 9.00. We're very proud of the book and of its list of contributors, including a poet who has been decorated with an MBE by the Queen (Chrys Salt - and it hasn't changed her a bit!), Bernard Kops, whose work spans the generations from the mid-twentieth century onwards, and many others, young and old, of the "page" and performance poets who have graced our microphone in the past year or so. 24 of the contributors will be reading their poems: Claire Booker, Stephen Davids; Mark Gilfillan; Patrick Osada; Amy Neilson Smith; Ernie Burns; Damian O’Vitch; Gareth Toms; Kathy Tytler; Kyle McHale; John Wheeler; Jos Anderson; Alex Twyman; Karen Izod; Ghareeb Iskander; Greg Freeman; Tom Vliestra; Cat Randle; Geoff Pimlott, Elaine Stabler, Andy B J Low; Caroline Reeves; Alice Thurling and Lorri Pimlott. There'll be an open mic after the contributors' readings and copies of the book will be on sale to contributors at the reduced price of £8.00 (the online price is £9.99 plus postage.) This promises to be a memorable night of meetings among all our poet friends, as well as an amazing public event. If your name is not on our list of readers yet, come anyway, and bring your friends and family!
